Who we are
We are a community who desire to see others live from a place of Beloved Identity. (If you’re around us for long, you’ll hear that phrase a lot.)
Many of us have served in ministry leadership for years—from pastoring, leading worship and church planting to discipleship, mentoring, and developing children’s ministries. Through these experiences, we’ve been burdened by a consistent pattern: so many people we love are attempting to find their identity in what they do—a “doing in pursuit of becoming.”
This is especially true for those in leadership and ministry, where it is incredibly easy to feel pegged into an identity based solely on the functions you carry out. When your worth, value, and identity are fueled by these “doings,” you inevitably fall into a performance trap where burnout, deep frustration, and even disillusionment are the only outcomes.
From “Doing” to “Being”
We’ve found that Yahweh fully intended for us to know who we are first, letting the way He designed us be the foundation for everything we do.
Our desire for this discipleship school is to provide the space and foster a culture where:
– Identity is rooted in who Yahweh says you are.
– Purpose is a consequence, not a chore.
Whether you are a stay-at-home parent or pastoring a church, your life should be a natural, consequential flow of who you know yourself to be. This provides the security and stability needed to live from a place of Shalom (peace) and Shabbat (rest).
What we believe
Journey to Naioth is an interdenominational discipleship school dedicated to the spiritual formation of the whole person. We believe that the path to wholeness begins with a firm root in the historical essentials of the Christian faith. To that end, we stand in unity with the global Church as expressed in the Nicene Creed.
We recognize the Scriptures as a unique and sacred gift, divinely given to us through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We believe the Scriptures serves as the faithful witness to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ—the Living Word. In our school, we approach the Scriptures not merely as a textbook of information, but as a sacred guide where the Spirit speaks and reveals Himself as well as our true identity in Yahweh.
NICENE CREED
We believe in one God,
the Father almighty maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God, begotten from the Father before all ages,
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made; of the same essence as the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
He came down from heaven; he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin
Mary, and was made human. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate; he suffered
and was buried. The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead.
His kingdom will never end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life. He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
He spoke through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look forward to the resurrection of the dead, and to life in the world to come. Amen.
